The
north
Norfolk
coast is
considered
to have
some of
the best
and
varied
bird
watching
in
Britain.
Virtually
all this
coastline
is
designated
a
Heritage
coast
and an
area of
outstanding
natural
beauty
and is
protected
by
various
conservation
bodies.
It
offers a
wide
range of
habitats
from one
of the
largest
areas of
saltmarsh
in
Britain
to pine
forests.
Bitterns,
Avocets,
Bearded
Tits and
Marsh
Harriers
are just
some of
the
species
that
breed at
Cley and
Titchwell.
The
winter
brings
huge
numbers
of geese
and ducks
and the
area is
renowned
for the
sighting
of rare
and
uncommon
birds as
well as
a large
variety
of
breeding
and
migratory
species
